In the Netherlands, a Mobile Medical Team MMT, also known as a trauma team, is a team consisting of three people that can be deployed to provide rapid medical assistance. An MMT works from one of the eleven trauma centers in the Netherlands. Four of these centers have access to a heli-MMT; called a helicopter, trauma helicopter or lifeliner. The helicopter is primarily used for transporting the team and patients, if this results in a large gain in speed compared to the car ambulance.
