The War Memorial is situated on Aldeburgh seafront and takes the form of a Latin cross on a five stepped octagonal base. The Royal and Borough Arms are to be found on on the main text panel. There are 84 names for World War 1 and 26 for World War 2, with an additional 7 Second World War Civilians. The memorial was originally unveiled on 2nd January 1921 by Chief Officer Day. The architect was Mr W Crum-Watson and the builders were Messrs. W Farmer & Brindley. Details of the unveiling were published in the East Anglian Daily Times 4th Janauary 1921. The names are listed within the service that they were serving in.
