The Cape Fox Hill Creek Street Funicular, an unusual form of transportation and one of the few in service in the United States, located in the Creek Street part of Ketchikan, Alaska. Famous as the one time red light district of Ketchikan, is now full of craft and gift shops, as well as several restaurants, where dance halls, bars, and houses of ill repute once stood. A popular summer cruise ship port of call, Ketchikan is located at the start of the Inside Passage in southeast Alaska. Known as the Salmon Capital of the World, tourism, timber harvesting, and fishing, both recreational and commercial, are the cornerstones of the local economy.
