The Gutenberg Bible is the first great book printed in Western Europe from movable metal type in 1455 at Mainz, Germany. Gutenberg’s mechanical printing press made all knowledge available to every person and was a huge step forward. This Bible is in the Library of Congress in Washington, DC.
