A group of Wood Tappers perform in front of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic during the Esala Perahera in Kandy, Sri Lanka. Wood Tappers perform a dance which includes running and jumping whilst singing and tapping to recall ancient warriors in battle. The Esala Perahera is held to honour the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha (which is enshrined within the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic).
