This is a Rhinella genus toad, Bufonidae family. The are more than 90 species in this genus. Common name: south american toad or beaked toad. Native to Neotropical parts of Mexico, Central and South America. Rhinella means "little nose". Extremely hardy animals and voracious predators of insects and other small prey. The toad is a ground-dwelling predator, primarily eating terrestrial and aquatic insects and snails. Observed near Maya Biosphere Reserve (MBR), Petén, northern Guatemala.
