Photo taken in Genoa on 14th March 2009. The Coppa Milano-Sanremo is back from March 13 to 15, 2009. But with a new twist. The Touring Regularity Event has been transformed into a Classic Regularity Event. These new rules will now permit Top Drivers to participate. Everything officially begins on Friday morning, March 13, with checks and laps on the circuit of the Autodromo di Monza. Participants can show up there a day early, if they wish, on Thursday afternoon. Then the event will move on to Piazza del Duomo in Milan, on Friday afternoon, where the cars will be presented to the public by Simon Kisdston and Savina Confaloni. The Gala Dinner will be held at Le Méridien Hotel Gallia. The next day, Saturday, March 14, everyone will head south, as the cars cross the Lomellina region near Alessandria to reach the foothills of the Ligurian Appennines. There they will stop for lunch at the Monterotondo Resort, in the land of Gavi, then cross the mountains, heading for Genoa, which they will reach in a breath-taking descent down Monte Fasce. The beautiful cars will parade through Genoa’s center, and then in the evening, participants will head for the Aquarium (Europe’s largest) for another Gala Dinner. The last leg, on Thursday, January 15, will go from Genova to Sanremo, through the Faiallo Pass, with a stop for lunch at Villa Faraggiana in Albissola Marina. They will arrive at their destination in Piazza Colombo in Sanremo in time for the Gran Finale and the final Gala Dinner.
