Constructed of steel with massive concrete counter weights over the Yellowstone river in Montana and originally known as the Great Northern Railway bridge. The span is now part of the Lewis and Clark trail along with the wooden timber Cartwright rail tunnel at the east end of the structure. The bridge closed to rail traffic in the 1980s and was designed to lift for passing steam boats that no longer navigate the waterway.
