Benjamin Franklin well understood the power of the press. At the Franklin Court Printing Press recreation, visitors can see how an 18th-century printing press operated and discover the critical role the printed word played in the American Revolution and the founding of the nation. Adjacent to the printing press is the home of Franklin's grandson, printer and newspaper publisher, Benjamin Franklin Bache. The editorial staff of Bache's newspaper offers insight into the controversial journalistic culture of the 1790s.
