Su Causeway(su di),In the fourth year of the emperor YUAN YOU in the SONG dynasty(1089 AD),Su Shi then the mayor of hangzhou required laborers to dredge west lake. The 2.8 kilometer long embankment was built by lake silt.In order to cherish the memory of Su Shi,the embankment was then called Su Gong Di,it is also beautifully called “spring dawn at su causewayâ€.
