The Transporter is a light commercial vehicle for the transport of persons or goods produced by Volkswagen, in various series, starting in 1949. With the name Transporter, in fact, identifies a particularly heterogeneous group of vehicles. It can, however, a fundamental distinction between the first three series, T2 Split, T2 Bay and T25, derived from the Beetle, with rear wheel drive and the engine at the rear overhang and subsequent generations (T4 and T5), with front-wheel drive and motor front.
