Cotehele House built by the Edgcombes from slate and granite in Tudor times stayed in the family for 600 years. The hall has an ancient timber roof with a fine display of weaponary. There is a 12 acre garden, with terraces, ponds and orchards. The valley garden has a medieval stew pond and dovecote and leads to Cotehele quay, The House has no electricity
