The Greek siege of Troy lasted ten years. Seeing that they could not break through the walls of Troy, the Greeks devised a new cunning - a huge hollow wooden horse. The horse was built by Ephesus and filled with Greek warriors led by Odysseus. The rest of the Greek army allegedly left the battlefield and in fact hid behind Mount Tened. The Trojans accepted the horse as a sign of peace. Greek spy Sinon convinced the Trojans that the horse was a gift, despite the warnings of Laocoon and Cassandra. Beautiful Jelena and Deifob also examined the horse. The Trojans greatly celebrated the raising of the siege, and when the Greeks dismounted, the whole city was stunned by drunkenness. Greek soldiers opened the gates of the city so that the rest of the army could enter and the city was ruthlessly looted, all the men were killed and the women and children were taken into slavery.
