This colorful traditional boat from Lake Titicaca, in Peru, is made with reeds that the local population collects from the lake. Today one of the sources of income of the Uros, the town that inhabits the numerous floating islands of the lake, close to the capital, Puno, is the one provided by tourists who ride in their traditional boat.
In the local language, the reed is called “totoraâ€, which is why they are also often called totora boats.
