A stoat trap laid in Boundary Stream Reserve, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. Stoats are a pest in New Zealand as they are not native and eat the eggs of the Kiwi - an endangered flightless bird. The kiwi have been reintroduced to the Boundary Stream Reserve in an attempt to save the Kiwi from extinction. The traps are laid with chicken eggs as bait.
