Approximately 50 km west of Palermo in Sicily lies the small hamlet of Scopello, on a coast consisting partly of steep rocks and partly of romantic bays with magnificent, white beaches. It is characterised by large rock formations protruding from the sea. In the east it adjoins the broad Gulf of Castellammare.
