Pictured is a Red-eared slider turtle and Koi fish in the Japanese Garden of the Forth Worth Botanic Garden, Texas. The trinomial name for the turtle is Trachemys scripta elegans. Koi are colored varieties of the Amur carp, Cyprinus rubrofuscus, that are kept for decorative purposes in outdoor koi ponds or water gardens.
