Piazza del Duomo, in the heart of the historic center of Florence (Tuscany, Italy), is dominated by the cathedral and related buildings such as Giotto's Campanile and the Baptistery of San Giovanni. The enormous cathedral of Florence is among the most important architectural works of the period between the Gothic and the Renaissance, and one of the largest and most beautiful cathedrals in Europe. Giotto's Bell Tower is located next to the cathedral, originally positioned next to the front instead of set back. It was designed by Giotto, hence the name, but made by Andrea Pisano and completed by Francesco Talenti.
