It is located on a plateau at 2,400 meters above sea level. According to the local Tigray language, Addis Ababa means `fresh flowers.` Addis Ababa is a state-level special city. The city has more than 80 different ethnic groups and speaks more than 80 different languages; there are Christian, Islamic and Jewish communities. It is beautiful to overlook Addis Ababa in the early morning.
