Latacunga, Ecuador 01 October, 2012: Unidentified Participants are painted in black and one of them is riding a horse as Mama Negra at La Fiesta de la Mama Negra traditional festival. Mama Negra Festival is a mixture of indigenous, Spanish and African influences and celebrates the patron saint Virgen de la Merced supposedly stopping the 1742 eruption of nearby volcano Cotopaxi, leaving Latacunga unharmed.
