Guava scientific name: Psidium guajava Linn. is a small to medium sized tree in the family Myrtaceae, native to Central America and the West Indies. It is a perennial plant, 3-10 m tall, glabrous. The bark is smooth, the leaves are single, the young branches are square. Young shoots pubescent, leaves single, opposite, oval, oblong-elliptic, 3-8 cm wide, 6-14 cm long, single or inflorescence 2-3 flowers, axillary, white petals, easy to fall, numerous stamens. A lot. The fruit is a fresh fruit. The raw green fruit is edible. When ripe it turns yellow. This photo was taken in my home garden this morning, where it was blooming and green fruiting in its next growth phase.
