Guava scientific name: Psidium guajava Linn. is a small to medium sized tree in the family Myrtaceae, native to Central America and the West Indies. It is a perennial plant, 3-10 m tall, glabrous. The bark is smooth, the leaves are single, the young branches are square. Young shoots pubescent, leaves single, opposite, oval, oblong-elliptic, 3-8 cm wide, 6-14 cm long, single or inflorescence 2-3 flowers, axillary, white petals, easy to fall, numerous stamens. A lot. The fruit is a fresh fruit. The raw green fruit is edible. When ripe it turns yellow.
