The Department of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology. Tomsk Regional Clinical Hospital. Ill children live here together with their mothers. Leukemia (a blood cancer), anemia, hemophilia – these diseases rank second in the statistics of mortality of children under the age of 14. First rank is the accidents (injuries and poisoning). In case of blood cancer the most important thing is to diagnose it in time. If the illness was detected early and the treatment was picked up correctly, the probability of treatment or transition in a condition of long remission at children makes 80-90 percent. In Russia during the last years the survival rate at a blood cancer has grown with 4 to 80 percent.
