The Cathedral of the Metropolitan Seat of Banat was built between 1936 and 1940 by the architect Ion Traianescu and painted between 1939 and 1946. Cathedral is 63 meters long and 32 wide and its main spire is 83.7 m high. A 7 meter high cross tops its highest spire and it can hold 4500 people. It shows a combination of architectural styles and in its crypt lays a valuable museum of religious art.
