Cane Toads were originally brought into Australia to combat the cane beetle, but ran amok and started wreaking havoc on the local ecosystem instead. Measures to control them were not taken soon enough, and their range is growing each year. Taxidermied cane toads and cane toad leather can often be found in tourist shops, especially in Queensland.
