New Orleans, Louisiana, USA - October 28, 2014: A bright red Streetcar running on Canal Street at the intersection with Dauphine Street. The Canal Streetcar line is the part of New Orleans historic street railway system since 1861. It was shut down and replaced by bus service in 1964. Then in 2004, 40 years after its close, the Streetcar service was restored to Canal Street. The Canal line running along the New Orleans' Main Street, Canal Street -- it starts its 5 1/2 miles route from the Mississippi River, through the City's Central Business District, into the Mid-City area, ends at the historic city cemeteries at City Park Avenue. A branch line turns northward onto North Carrollton Avenue to the New Orleans Museum of Art in City Park.
