While exploring the uninhabited island of PathiraManal with friends, we spotted this bright lizard in the leaf litter. It was quite calm and showed no fear or aggression. We mistakenly thought it was a chameleon. But its inability to camouflage which is a characteristic feature of chameleon, kept us wondering. Later, on closer look we noticed its eyes, scales and other features which resembled that of the large scaled forest lizard Calotes grandisquamis.
