Black-winged stilt Scientific name: Himantopus himantopus is a bird of the genus Agriturismus in the family Reticulata, with 4 subspecies. It is a slender black and white wading bird. The body is about 37 cm long. It is characterized by a slender black mouth, black wings, long legs red, and white feathers. The back of the neck has black patches. Young birds are darker brown, with gray on the top of their heads and the nape of their necks.
