This image was taken on the ground during a 2 month aid relief trip to Uganda, Africa. This remote village was in Karamoja, Uganda where it had not rained for the last 2 years. The river bed was completely dry except for 2 small well guarded pools of water. The poverty was extreme and there were families, children and orphaned babies suffering the effects of poverty, hunger, lack of water and medical treatment. This Australian woman Aid worker is holding a baby who was in critical need of help with food and medical attention which was forthcoming.
